Directions to Ravensdown Guest House

Getting to Ravensdown from Edinburgh Airport:

By car:
From the airport follow the signs for the City Centre, taking the A8 into the city. Then follow signs for Leith, the Royal Botanic Garden and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Ravensdown is located at 248 Ferry Road, on your left just after the turn off for the Botanic Garden. If you need more details, follow the directions detailed below, arriving from the west via the A8, from the Gogar roundabout, take the 2nd exit and at the next set of lights (Marriot Hotel...)

By bus:
From the airport, either take the Airlink bus 100 or the tram to Princes Street. Get off the bus or tram at the Princes Street stop, then continue walking to Hanover Street on your left side. Then on Hanover Street, catch bus number 23 (or the 27) bus direction Trinity to Ravensdown at 248 Ferry Road. Bus 23 turns right onto Ferry Road so get off on Ferry Road, this is the best option. If you take the number 27 get off the bus just before it turns left onto Ferry Road. We are closer to the bus 23 stop on Ferry Road.

Getting to Ravensdown from the A1 (arriving from the south):

Arriving from the south & Newcastle on the A1, stay on the A1 until the outskirts of Edinburgh, do not take the cut-off for the A720 City Bypass West, stay on the A1 heading North. Three roundabouts, carry straight through all of these, following the signs for Leith. At the third roundabout, straight through, the road becomes the A199 direction Leith, along Seafield Road (East). Continue along this road heading for Leith, actually bypassing the city centre to the north. Past the Shell garage on your right on Seafield Road, continue straight on along Salamander Street, Baltic Street, Bernard Street, through the old part of Leith, crossing the Water of Leith. This brings you onto Commercial Street at the end of which to your right is the Royal Yacht Britannia. Turn left at this set of lights into North Junction Street, then right at the next set of lights into Ferry Road, signposted Forth Road Bridge A90 & Royal Botanic Garden. About 1 mile on your right is 248 Ferry Road across from the playing fields.

Getting to Ravensdown from the M8 (arriving from the west):

At the end of the M8 heading for Edinburgh, follow the signs for the A720 City Bypass North. At the next roundabout, Gogar Roundabout, take the 2nd exit and at the next set of lights (Marriot Hotel and Comet on your right) turn left heading towards Leith. Continue straight at the next roundabout then straight on for a about one mile to the Barnton Junction (a large T junction), where you need to turn right still heading for Leith and now on the A90 along Queensferry Road. There are 3 sets of lights after the Barnton Junction, and at all of them you go straight on heading for City Centre and Leith. At the next lights, there is a Y junction at the Farmer's Garage, take the left fork heading towards Leith. This takes you along Telford Road and about 1 mile further on you come to the Crew Toll roundabout. Again, take the sign for Leith which is the 3rd exit, and this is Ferry Road. Ravensdown is located at number 248 Ferry Road on the left hand side just after the turn off to your right for the Botanic Garden.
